Waterfowl Hunters Expo

In 2019, a dedicated group of Wisconsin waterfowl enthusiasts initiated efforts to revitalize the Wisconsin Waterfowl Hunters Conference, aiming to create a more comprehensive event that would appeal to a broader audience throughout Wisconsin and the Midwest. These passionate hunters sought to showcase their cherished waterfowling traditions while promoting wildlife and habitat conservation efforts essential for sustaining the sport's future.

The original conference, established in 2002 by a committee of independent waterfowl hunters, had long served as a platform for preserving and enhancing waterfowl hunting heritage. Throughout its history, the event received support from individual conservationists, environmental organizations, commercial entities, and government agencies.

In 2020, the organization underwent a significant transformation, rebranding as the Waterfowl Hunters Expo (WHE) to better represent its expanded programming and activities. This evolution maintained the founders' vision of fostering dialogue, education, and collaboration between the hunting community and wildlife management authorities.

The modern WHE serves as a premier gathering where enthusiasts converge to celebrate their shared passion, exchange knowledge, and engage with resource management professionals. The event plays a vital role in strengthening community bonds, improving communication channels, and advancing conservation initiatives within the waterfowling world.

As a unique event specifically designed for waterfowl hunters and enthusiasts, the WHE offers an extensive program featuring educational seminars, competitive events, and interactive activities. The Expo's inclusive environment ensures that attendees of all ages and backgrounds can find engaging opportunities to participate in and enjoy.

The Waterfowl Hunters Expo continues its tradition by welcoming participants on August 22nd and 23rd, 2025, for another celebration of waterfowling culture and conservation.
